How we do it

Covocacional exists to develop pathways for covocational leaders, propelling them forward in God’s mission to see gospel saturation across the US and Latin America. These pathways take shape through missional training processes—such as residencies, mentoring, and training centers—that equip leaders to live and serve missionally in every sphere of life. The missional framework Covocacional brings serves as a catalyst for the efforts of networks and churches, helping them cultivate a deeper missional DNA that strengthens and multiplies their work.

There are three key ingredients or elements to Covocacional: Pathways, Missional and Movemental DNA, and Re-thinking Vocation & Re-imagining Models. Without any of them, our vision will be incomplete. Together, these elements foster multiplication.

Missional & Movemental DNA

The work must begin by strengthening the church’s missional DNA in light of the Scriptures. The key to an exponential multiplication of disciples is not a few super-talented church planters who would push the mission forward. It is the body of Christ as a whole living as the sent people of God in its diversity of gifts, callings, and contexts. The church (not the building but the people) is the place where the Spirit works and through whom the Spirit works.

Not only do we need to learn how to live as disciples on mission (Missional DNA), but we also need to reshape our ecclesiology for mission (Movemental DNA).

Pathways

We partner with churches and networks to create—or strengthen—pathways that intentionally develop missional disciples and leaders. In many cases, these pathways exist only in part, so we come alongside to help re-think, connect, or build them more fully.

But a strong missional DNA without a clear pathway often leads to gaps: some are never invited in, others are not adequately equipped, and many struggle to sustain their calling—ultimately limiting multiplication. That’s why both elements are essential.

Re-thinking vocation & Re-imagining models

We believe that seeing exponential growth requires rethinking traditional models of leadership development and church planting. Rather than relying on approaches that are complex, costly, or difficult to reproduce, we seek to cultivate models that are simple, sustainable, and adaptable across diverse contexts.

For a broader mobilization of God’s people in His mission, the church must rediscover the language of calling, church planters with a second job need to re-think how both vocations are part of their calling, and the church must affirm, support, and create pathways for co-vocational ministry to flourish.

Covocacional

The missional framework Covocacional provides serves as a catalyst for churches and networks in the three areas above. When these three elements are integrated, they create strong potential for the exponential multiplication of disciples and churches.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
